On January 18, 2022, at approximately 1820 hours, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Pine Street for a domestic between two brothers, Jared Cochran and Joshua Cochran. The brothers were arguing over installing a washer and dryer. Jared was trying to push the washing machine on top of his brother Joshua. The brothers were separated and told to stay away from each other.
Forty minutes later at approximately 1900 hours, officers were dispatched back to the residence due to the brothers fighting again.
Joshua stated that after officers left, Jared came out of the garage and tried to attack him as he was still behind the washer trying to hook it up. Joshua tried to defend himself with a hammer and struck Jared on his left forearm. Joshua stated that Jared then pointed a "Zip-Gun" at him. Their mother, Fay Cochran, stated that she also witnessed Jared point the gun at Joshua and gave officers permission to search for it in her garage. Joshua stated that Jared was in possession of two (2) zip-guns. Joshua described one being a single barrel and the other being a double barrel.
During the search officers found and seized a single barrel zip-gun, a double barrel zip-gun (neither weapon contained a serial number), a marijuana vape pen, two (2) large marijuana bongs and a large kitchen plate containing marijuana paste on it with a razor blade inside a cabinet, and a black and silver in color 303 British Cal. long riffle.
As a result, Jared Cochran was charged with 2 Felony counts of possession of firearm with altered manufacturer’s number, 1 Misdemeanor count of recklessly endangering another person, 2 Misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, 1 Misdemeanor count of person not to use/control firearm, 1 Misdemeanor count of possession of small amount of Marijuana, and 4 Misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
