On April 8, 2022 at approximately 0730 hours, Corporal Hayes of the Catawissa Borough Police Department served arrest and search warrants at a residence on Andrews Lane Catawissa, PA for Nathan L. Roeder. Roeder was then arraigned at Magistrate Long’s office on (2) Counts Felony Arson, (1) Count Felony Arson endangering property, (1) Count Felony Arson Possession of explosive or incendiary materials or devices, (1) Count Felony Criminal Mischief, (43) Counts Misdemeanor Recklessly Endangering another person(s). Mr. Roeder is currently housed at Columbia County Prison awaiting the preliminary hearing.
On February 15, 2022 Corporal Hayes was dispatched to a structural fire located at 216 Walnut Street within Catawissa Borough. It took over twelve (12) fire department to assist in extinguishing the fire. Upon further investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshalls, designated the fire an arson.
After a very thorough investigation, it was determined that Nathan Roeder committed the arson of his father, Roger Roeder’s house at 216 Walnut Street to collect the insurance money.
