Rockefeller Center Tree Passes Through Town
A procession of vehicles surrounded the 12 to 13 ton tree set to be erected in Rockefeller Center as it exited Interstate 80 and proceeded to the TA truck stop in Hemlock Township on Thursday, November 9th. The 75-foot Norway Spruce was cut from a location in State College, PA earlier that day and is set to arrive on Saturday, November 11th. The tree will be the 85th to adorn the Plaza and the third from Pennsylvania. New York City's lighting is set for November 29th where the tree will feature over 50,000 lights and remain on display until January 7th. Officers from Hemlock Township Police Department remained on site overnight to guard the tree while it waited to resume its journey the following morning.
