UPDATE: As the investigation into this incident continues, Bloomsburg Police, through an interview conducted by the Child Advocacy Center, have determined the actor (also a juvenile) was known to the victim. At this time, it appears initial details regarding the abduction of the victim were inaccurate. This was not a random act by a stranger and, as such, we assess there is no broader risk to the community.

The Bloomsburg Police are investigating the reported abduction and assault of a 13-year-old female victim. The victim left her grandmother’s house at about midnight; after having asked earlier in the evening if she could visit her boyfriend. The victim was reported missing at 0134 hours. At 0156 hours, the victim called family and stated she was raped and was found in the 400 block of Market Street.

Victim stated she was walking at an unknown location and observed an unknown male staring at her from across the street. The male is described as a tall, medium build white male in his 30s; long black hair and brown eyes; wearing a black jacket with hood, and loose pants, either black or blue in color. The victim reports attempting to run from the male; but, is caught and shoved into a residence; possibly a basement. The victim reported being assaulted and choked during the incident. She bit the suspect during the incident and at some point, was able to escape. The location of the house is unknown but is described as two stories with entry through a back door via 6 steps.
