Subject: River Flooding Situational Awareness

As of 2:45 PM Saturday December 26, 2020 Fishing Creek water level is slightly less than 6 feet as indicated at the Fernville Bridge.  The river is at 20.13 feet and forecasted to crest at 20.5 feet (1.5 feet above flood stage) in the next couple of hours.  All Bloomsburg residents are asked to remain vigilant due to high water levels in the area.  Those roadways in close proximity to the river will remain closed until the water recedes and Bloomsburg Public Works clears them of debris and determines they are safe for travel.

Motorist may encounter barricades in those areas affected by flooding.  Do not drive around barricades.  They are in place for your safety.  The combination of darkness, extremely cold air temperatures and cold water can be a deadly combination.  The fines for driving around barricades during a hazardous condition can be as much as $250.00
