Super Bowl Safety
The Bloomsburg Police Department congratulates the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs for navigating their way to the Superbowl this season! Knowing we have many Eagles fans in the area, we also realize a local connection to the Kansas City Chiefs in their General Manager, Brett Veach, a Mount Carmel native! The game is bound to generate a great deal of enthusiasm; and, we encourage everyone who plans to gather with family and friends to celebrate responsibly.
- If your plans involve alcohol, designate a driver or use ride share services.
- Use the “buddy system”; and don’t allow others who appear intoxicated to get behind the wheel.
- Excessive alcohol impairs judgement; don’t engage in activities which could endanger persons or property.
- Be cognizant of your surroundings; intoxicated persons make attractive targets for victimization of crime, to include theft, assault, and rape.
In the interest of public safety, and in concert with the North Central Highway Safety Network, Bloomsburg Police will be participating in various enforcement activities including DUI checkpoints and roving patrols. Officers will be on the lookout for not only DUI; but, aggressive driving behaviors in general.
Enjoy the game, use common sense, have dignity in victory or defeat; and, know that our officers will be working diligently to keep our highways safe for all.
