The Bloomsburg Police Department is investigating a vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Lightstreet Road at Penn Street on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at approximately 1156 hours.
A 2008, Toyota, Tacoma, being operated by John Learn (Bloomsburg) was traveling north on Penn Street at Lightstreet Road.
A 2008, Toyota, Sienna, being operated by Amber Yarnell (Bloomsburg) was traveling east on Lightstreet Road. John Bordne (Bloomsburg) was a passenger in the Sienna. Nathan Sledziewski (White Haven) was walking east on Lightstreet Road on the north side of the roadway.
Learn turned left (west) onto Lightstreet Road from Penn Street and while doing so, collided with Yarnell and Bordne. The force of the collision caused Yarnell off of the roadway, where she collided with Sledziewski and then into the structure at 401 Lightstreet Road.
Sledziewski suffered an injury of unknown severity and was transported to Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital by Bloomsburg EMS.
The Bloomsburg Fire Chief was summoned to the scene in order to assess the damage to the structure. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Mausteller's Towing Service. A portion of the roadway was shut down for approximately 50 minutes.
The collision is still under investigation by the Bloomsburg Police. The Bloomsburg University Police, Bloomsburg Fire Department and Fire Police assisted at the scene.
