MISSION STATEMENT

The District Attorney’s Office is dedicated to prosecuting all crimes occurring within Columbia County in a fair, efficient and cost-effective manner while ensuring that offenders are held accountable for their criminal conduct and the interests of victims are represented through the criminal process.  Working with our partners in federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, it is our duty and objective to protect our residents and promote public safety in our communities in order to assure that Columbia County remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.

FULFILLMENT

In fulfillment of its mission, in addition to the core prosecution function, representatives of the District Attorney’s Office work closely with the following specialized organizations and entities:

          * Columbia County Drug Task Force in the investigation, arrest and  prosecution of persons involved in the sale of illegal drugs;

          * Columbia County Multi-Disciplinary Investigative Team in the investigation, arrest and prosecution of child sexual predators;

          * Columbia-Montour Treatment Court Program which provides alternatives to incarceration for certain drug and alcohol dependent persons who qualify for the program.

The District Attorney’s Office staff is composed of the District Attorney, First Assistant District Attorney, 2 Assistant District Attorneys, 3 Legal Secretaries and 2 Victim/Witness Coordinators.
