On Thursday, August 13, 2020 at approximately 8:08 PM, Officer Donald Spotts was dispatched to 158 Gas Well Road for a report of shots fired at and into a vehicle. The victim, Cameron Temple, said he had a verbal argument with his fiance, Tesla Achy. Cameron Temple said he decided to leave the residence so they could calm down. Cameron Temple had backed out of the driveway and went to travel east on Gas Well Road, (towards Numidia Drive).   As Cameron Temple was pulling away from the residence, 21 year-old Jeffrey Achy, of the same address, allegedly began to shoot at the rear of TEMPLE's Kia, Sophia sedan. To date, three .45 caliber handgun slugs have been recovered from the interior of TEMPLE's car. TEMPLE was not injured in the shooting. 

 

Bullets traveled through the trunk of the vehicle, through the back seat and into the front driver and passenger areas. At least one round entered the vehicle's gas tank, causing the gasoline to leak out onto the roadway. 

 

Officer Donald Spotts and assisting officers from the Catawissa Borough Police Department and the Montour Township Police Department arrived on scene and took Jeffrey Achy into custody without incident. Officers were assisted on scene by the Valley Chemical Fire Company and Fire Police who assisted with scene control and the mitigation of the gasoline leak.

 

Jeffrey Achy was charged with Criminal Attempt at Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure / vehicle. Jeffrey was taken to the Columbia County Prison and arraigned via video by MDJ Crag W. Long this morning. Jeffrey Achy remains lodged in the Columbia County prison under $250,000.00 straight bail.
