A resident called this department to report his wife received a call on her cell phone from an individual named "Lou". The man said he was from Philadelphia and was soliciting donations to help fund a police horse. The resident's wife did not reply or offer money. The resident received the same call this morning on his cell phone. The resident said he asked "Lou" for his badge number and Lou said, well maybe next time you will donate and hung up. The resident reported the call came from a 215 area code.

Residents are reminded to verify a person's story prior to donating any funds via unsolicited calls, emails or social media messages.
