On Thursday, April 14, 2022 at approximately 0717hrs, the Borough of Berwick Police Department was dispatched to the 400 block of East 5th Street for a report of a found child. The child was found to have visible cuts to her feet, which appeared to be infected and covered in animal feces. Berwick Police Officers were able to locate the parents, Kevin Merritt and Janel Merritt, who both were supervising the child but had no idea the child was missing.
